Mutual Aid to Eaton for Heavy Rescue on an MVA
Saturday, December 25th, 2021
Just after 0200am on 12/25/21, the Hamilton Fire Department was requested to respond mutual aid to Eaton with a heavy rescue to assist in an extrication. The initial call was for a pickup truck into a pole with the driver trapped but uninjured. The crew from 195 arrived and assisted in securing the vehicle to the guard rail with chains to prevent it from sliding down the embankment. The rescue crew then assisted Eaton with removal of doors and roof. The steering wheel was rolled up to free the drivers legs, and the driver was then able to self extricate. Hamilton returned to service at 0331.

Originally, Tanker 196 was requested to Madison for a reported structure fire, fire in a house. Madison Engine 232 arrived declaring a working fire, requesting manpower and an additional Engine into the scene.

An early afternoon alert by Madison County 911 send Engine 194 and Rescue 195 to Earlville for a working fire in a garage/small barn. Earlville arrived to heavy fire throughout the structure. 194 grabbed the plug from the north side and layed in pulling a 2-1/2 to the structure.

Around 4:00 pm, Hamilton and SOMAC were alerted for a motor vehicle crash , car -vs- tree. Initial 911 reports advised of 1 injury. Eaton FD unit 3 arrived first, finding 3 injured entrapped in the vehicle.

Just before 9:00 this morning, Hamilton Fire was alerted on the automatic box with Earlville for a Structure fire @ 14 West Main in the Earlville Village. Engine 194 responded and was given the RIT assignment by Sherburne Chief Casscles who had command.

Just after 3:30 this afternoon, Hamilton Fire and SOMAC ambulance were dispatched to a car vs pole MVC on Eaton St.. in the village. 195 arrived finding the driver out of the vehicle. The crew secured the vehicle hazards and controlled traffic.

@ approximately 1:40 this afternoon, Hamilton Fire and Madison Ambulance were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash -Truck vs Tree, 12B north in front of the Price Chopper. Madison County Car 1 arrived with 1 patient self extricated on the ground.

Just after 14:00, the Engine was on the road again going Mutual Aid to Chenango County, Smyrna Fire District for a structure fire. Engine 194 arrived and was assigned to lay in supply line and the crew went to work aiding in the exterior operations.
