The Hamilton Fire Department has implemented a Knox Rapid Entry System in the Village Of Hamilton. The key boxes are purchased  and installed by the building owner, but access is limited  to the fire department only. This system  enables the Fire Department to gain immediate access to buildings during an alarm without awaiting the arrival of a property keyholder, while at the same time maintaining a high level of security for the building. Knox keys are kept securely locked in key secure units on HFD vehicles and only released with a PIN code when building access is required.
