Bio: After graduating from Colgate, Mike became a high school math teacher at Saint Paul’s School in Maryland.

Advice/Memory: “Standout memories: Studying for finals in HFD with Chris (Markos), first structure fire in Earlville, Caleb (Goodie)’s blue truck, (Alex) Imp’s hand, wrestling Imp, Markos’ jug pants.

Caio Driver ‘20

City: San Francisco, CA

Tenure: 2019-2022

Bio: This coming summer (2023) will be Caio’s fourth as a wildland firefighter for the US Forest Service. He has worked on a Type 2 Initial Attack handcrew in Idaho and a Type 6 engine in Wyoming. This time, he will be working for the Eldorado Hotshots. Caio also got a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Wyoming.

Advice/Memory: “Learn to anticipate things. Ask questions when it's appropriate, get out of people's way, say yes to everything you can.“

Clark Perkins ‘18

Bio: Clark played lacrosse for Colgate for four years throughout his time at HFD. He joined the US Marine Corps while in college and was a dedicated friend and leader to all. We sadly lost Clark too soon in the summer of 2020. He is dearly missed but always remembered.

Bio: After Colgate, Hannah went attended graduate school for geology. After that, she worked for Planned Parenthood. Later, Hannah worked as a farmer and then as a brewer. Now, she is a fulltime freelance writer.

Advice/Memory: “Appreciate your tenure at the HFD. It is such a unique experience for Colgate students, and you are lucky to get to experience it.”
